White Oak Stables is in for a real treat! New features recently finished or currently underway include the following:

  1. Automatic upgrade creation. Once you pay for your upgrade it will be added directly onto your account.

  2. Easier care of your horses available to upgraded members with limited functionality for non-upgraded members.

  3. New horse writers search capabilities for the English register.

  4. New customizable horse pages for the English register.

  5. New background image/color settings for your account pages.

Whoa-Horsie: Racing Towards the Finish

The new layout for whoa-horsie.com (WH) is finally up! It features an authentic "western" look and feel and a host of brand new graphics to go along with it. Currently we don't have a release date for WH but it it still expected to open this year. Twenty-five invitation keys will be sent out to active members of other D1O games. Each member will have the chance to invite up to five friends to play with them. This will limit most of the members to people who are really interested in playing!

Horsetastic!

Introducing a brand new comic on White Oak Stables. Horsetastic is the tale of four friends and the quirks of their day to day lives. The comic is currently on trial basis, and if it gets enough positive feedback 'we'd like to make it a permanent addition to the website. So sit back, relax and enjoy. Racing To Victory

This week White Oak Stables has had a lot happening. There's a new help wiki that all members can use to create, edit and modify the game help files. This is a huge improvement over the old member guide that was infrequently updated.

In the racing register new avatar pictures have been added to the spotlights pages and message boards. These avatars will also show up in the member's online list. Since posting pictures in member names is so popular, but it makes searching for that member practically impossible, this is a great solution.

Also new to racing is the deceased horses feature. Horses kept alive and in good health to age 25 will automatically retire and their pedigree information will be stored on the game. This will make tracking inbreeding and linebreeding easier.

The bank section has new functionality like sending money to other members, cashing in game credits, and transferring money into a bank account.

Dynamic Horse Images

New images are under way for White Oak Stables. These images will be generated dynamically, which means breedings will result in new coat and marking colors. If you have an picture URL up for your horse you won't see the new images. The foal images are scheduled to start changing over by the end of this week. We're also adding yearling images for young horses and new adult horse images.

Are you a line artist? We're still looking for more line art horse pictures. We need horses of various ages in various positions, running, standing, kicking, lying down, etc. For every image emailed to White Oak Stables that we decide to use we'll $5 or you can put the money towards getting your account upgraded.
